Heard in #422 "The Graduate"
"I was looking for a song with a powerful and bittersweet emotional pull, to speak
of lives changing, of the memories of growing up, of precious moments come and gone. I feel as if "Fields of Gold" sung by
Eva Cassidy beautifully accomplishes all of this and elevates our graduation sequence into a classic Dawson's Creek moment."
Paul Stupin, Executive Producer |

"Fields Of Gold" Performed by Eva Cassidy (lyrics written by Sting)
RealAudio Windows Media
You'll remember me when the west wind moves Upon the fields of barley You'll forget
the sun in his jealous sky As we walk in fields of gold
So she took her love For to gaze awhile Upon the
fields of barley In his arms she fell as her hair came down Among the fields of gold Will you stay with me, will
you be my love Among the fields of barley We'll forget the sun in his jealous sky As we lie in fields of gold
See the west wind move like a lover so Upon the fields of barley Feel her body rise when you kiss her mouth
Among the fields of gold
I never made promises lightly And there have been some that I've broken But I
swear in the days still left We'll walk in fields of gold We'll walk in fields of gold
Many years have passed
since those summer days Among the fields of barley See the children run as the sun goes down Among the fields
of gold You'll remember me when the west wind moves Upon the fields of barley You can tell the sun in his jealous
sky When we walked in fields of gold When we walked in fields of gold When we walked in fields of gold
"Fields Of Gold" is from the album Songbird.

For one month between March and April 2001, Dawson's Creek Music Guide was taking your suggestions on what you think would
be the best song for Capeside High's Class of 2001. There were almost 5,000 suggestions submitted during that month. Unfortunately,
there wasn't enough time to check out each and every one of them.
Music supervisor John McCullough and executive producer
Paul Stupin looked over some of the suggestions. Paul Stupin selected this song to be heard during the graduation ceremony
in this special episode. It wasn't the most suggested or the even most popular, but in one way or another, your suggestions
helped.
Suggestions for senior class song ranged from the cliche and most well known graduation songs of today, to
the classics of yesteryear, and even included tunes from unknown bands and artists that Dawson's Creek helps so much to promote.
